Ancona is the capital of the region Marche which is one of the most beautiful and full of art regions in Italy and not only.
In this city, you will find a lot of beautiful buildings, a city located on a hill that is just on top of the sea as well.

Ancona has a lot to offer from art and architectures, some exceptional churches, awesome landscapes, and green spaces, excellent cuisine and so much more.
Thanks to its position this is one of the only cities in the world where if you are on the beach you will be able to see both the sunrise and the sunset on the beach.

We can start our tour of the city of Ancona from Piazza del Papa (Piazza del Plebiscito) is the living room of Ancona, here is where you will find a lot of bars, and restaurants and most of the nightlife of the city.
The Mole Vanvitelliana of Ancona is another great monument you can see in the city center, the pentagonal walls of this structure were designed by Carlo Vanvitelli on behalf of Pope Clement XII with the aim of making it a warehouse for goods arriving in the port.

The Pinacoteca Comunale Podesti is a great place to go if you like paintings and awesome sculptures from famous people of the region Marche.
In the area of the port is the Arch of Trajan that was built in 100 BC by order of the Roman Senate in honor of Emperor Trajan, as a tribute to his works dedicated to the expansion of the port.

Another place I love in Ancona is the Passetto park, it is a green park overlooking the sea, which also becomes a place of nightlife and events of all kinds.
Ancona is a city on the sea, the fish in this town is awesome like any other city on the sea. One of the most popular dishes is called Stoccafisso All’Anconitana.
This is a nice dish made with Stockfish cooked slowly in a sauce of tomato and potatoes. It is also called Brodetto di Patate.
Ancona is also very popular for the street food and the Olive Ascolane which is the typical dish from a nearby city called Ascoli Piceno.
My favorite dish that I actually love so much is called Astici con Peperoni Dolci (Lobsters with sweet peppers).
This mix of peppers and lobsters is delicious and if you love lobster too you need to order this dish at the restaurant.
