Loading...Venice is one of the most famous and visited cities in the world, in Italian, it’s called Venezia and it’s definitely a must see.
Apart from the fact that you will get ripped off with expensive food, and too many tourists around, still there is too much to see in Venice.
As soon as you enter the Laguna either by car or by boat you will start feeling in a dimension where art and beauty is everywhere.
This city, in fact, is not even a city, is probably just a huge museum in the form of a city.
Every corner of Venice is worth to visit and you must get a good tourist guide.
There are no cars in Venice and you can only move around the labyrinth (this is how it’s called this city) by walking.
Venice is the place where many lovers have decided to do their marriage proposal on a gondola for instance.
Venice is also called ‘The Romantic City’.
It’s hard to be bored in such a city, this is a city designed for tourists and there are an infinite amount of attractions and sightseeing.
The best way to enjoy Venice is by grabbing a guide and start walking around. Every inch of the town is crowded with important buildings and museums.
Consider that this is one of the most expensive cities in Italy! Food and stuff, in general, is completely different from the real Italy.
The first time I went to Venice I was probably 17 years old, I remember that I didn’t like it a lot. There are too many tourists, sometimes the water stinks and you can not drive around.
Then I went back several times with different girlfriends and suddenly it was better, especially because I had a good guide and a lot of curiosity.
In fact, if you are curious you can end up in places no one knows. For instance, there is a tower similar to the tower of Pisa in the center of Venice, or you can find a secret door that goes to a majestic underwater chapel.
It’s impossible to list all the monuments, museums and building you should visit but here are some of the most famous ones:
These are just some attractions, but literally, you can find stuff every corner, you just need to harm yourself with curiosity.

Consider that Venice is a labyrinth, not even the locals know how to get to a place to another. Getting lost is very common and you should take advantage of that to discover new awesome places.
If you are willing to stay away from a $10 coffee bought in a fancy place, you should try the real Venetian food.
This is most likely to be hidden and in some of the few places with no tourists around or even better outside of the Laguna.
If you are in the city center chances are that you will get ripped off with some pseudo-Italian food that will cost you a fortune and disappointments.
The province of Venice culinary history is pretty wide, and here I will tell you some of the most characteristic dishes.
Try to find a cheap trattoria somewhere where there is not a lot of people. Otherwise, you can also go where all the people go but make sure it’s expensive.
Crowded and rather cheap places are usually tourist food and not worth it.
You can also get some prepared dishes at the grocery store, sometimes it’s definitely more genuine and good than tourists places.
Venice Italy is a city you need to visit at least once in life. If you are passionate about arts and architecture you will never get tired of it.
If you instead like more outdoors and landscapes and road tripping like me you will probably commit suicide in Venice in a few weeks.
The fact that you can’t drive, that you are bound to a little island in the middle of a kind of nasty water and millions of freaking tourists hanging out in any corner is according to me not cool.
But still, there is a lot of history and fascinating stuff in this expensive city. You should also take a short trip to the island in front of Venice which is Burano.
Burano is the place where the well-known Vetro di Murano is made and it’s a little calmer compared to Venice.
Mestre and the area around Venice in Veneto is also quite interesting and you can find cool palazzi and museums and mostly cheap trattoria/restaurant that will feed you right.
