Loading...Rovigo is a small town located in the flat area of the Po Valley 40 miles from the Adriatic sea.
This city is also pretty close to Ferrara a city dominated by the Este family and their arts.
The Este family spent time in Rovigo as well and you can see the old fortification around the city.
It’s impossible to visit Italy and end up in a city with no art, and this applies also to Rovigo.

Il Cefalo Delle Polesine is the typical dish from Rovigo but also eels coming from the nearby Comacchio, (the capital of the eels) is available.
Rice and beans also is a specialty of the area. There are many places that are producing rice in the area and you must try it.
It is very common to find in the menu the local dialect word for beans, Fasoi (from the Italian word Fagioli), Pasta e Fasoi.
Anguilla Sull’Ara (eel) is the typical eel dish from Rovigo. The duck also is very popular and you kind find many different kinds of duck recipes.

Rovigo is a small town located in a flat area near some other interesting cities such as Ferrara and Comacchio. They have a nice city center and some monuments and building worth to visit.
