Loading...Ascoli Piceno is a beautiful city in the region Marche, the white buildings and the many things to see makes it a good place to go.
Not a lot of people decide to visit this city but I think that they are making a mistake. The entire historical center was built with white travertine blocks of the nearby Piceno quarries.
There are narrow streets and alleys, where the clothes are laid out in the sun to dry and many old public wash-houses that you can still see.
Ascoli Piceno is known as the city of 100 towers because if you go on a nearby hill you will be able to see many towers built during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
If you are curious and willing to travel a little further here in Italy you should spend some time in Ascoli Piceno and here I am going to tell you why.
One of the most beautiful squares in Italy can be found in Ascoli Piceno and here in Piazza Del Popolo is where we are going to start our visit in Ascoli.
Once you are in this amazing square you will see the Church of San Francesco, the Palazzo Dei Capitani del Popoli, medieval houses and arcades.
From whatever point you enter Piazza del Popolo, the first impression you have is of an extraordinary architectural harmony.
Palazzo Dei Capitani is another beautiful building that you can find in Piazza del Popolo and today it belongs to the Municipality of Ascoli.
You can visit the beautiful Renaissance courtyard, the Sala Della Ragione, the Sala Degli Stemmi.
The Chiesa Di San Francesco is another building that you can visit if you are in Piazza Del Popolo. This church is in Gothic style and there are many nuances of beautiful you will encounter when visiting.
Piazza Arringo and the beautiful fountain in the middle of the square is another great square that you will see when walking around the city.
Via Delle Stelle is a beautiful road that goes near the Tronto river. The buildings along the street were embattled for military defense purposes.
This is a great walk that you can do if you are tired of being inside visiting buildings and you will enjoy it a lot.

If you feel like going to the theatre, in Ascoli they have a beautiful theatre called Teatro Ventidio Basso, as you can see from the picture below it is a nice place to go.
If you are looking for a magic place to go, my biggest advice is to spend a few days relaxed on the Monti Sibillini.
That place is one of my favorite places in Italy, there is nothing bad there and you will love it so much. The hills and the mountains are amazing and the food outstanding.
There is nothing easier than telling you what is the most famous dish in Ascoli Piceno! I am pretty sure that anywhere you are in the world right now you have eaten this dish.
The most popular dish in Ascoli Piceno is called Olive Ascolane and you can see a picture below. These are olives filled with meat and fried in olive oil.
They are more a snack that a complete meal, but you can definitely eat them as a second dish after a pasta dish for instance.
Omelet ai Tartufi is another great dish you can find in many restaurants in the Marche region. If you like truffles and eggs it can be delicious for you for sure.
If you are in Ascoli and you some money you will definitely not die of starvation. If you are driving to the city just outside of the ring of Ascoli you will be able to find a huge amount of restaurants with a cheap menu Fisso that will serve you amazing fish.

Ascoli Piceno is a city pretty close to the beach and the maritime location of San Benedetto Del Tronto and some of the nicest mountains in the area.
If you are lucky you will be able to see the beach and the snow on the back of the mounts in the area of Ascoli.
This region of Italy is one of the nicest and full of culture and beautiful places that not a lot of tourists are visiting but that is awesome and nice.
If you are in the area in the summer season you will always find some Sagre and awesome food to eat everywhere you go.

The nightlife in Ascoli is pretty interesting and there are a lot of bars and places to go if you are a night owl.
The food is great and the Olive Ascolane is a dish that is famous worldwide and that you can eat way better here.
